The Nation’s Capital
Flying into Reykjavik, you will get your transfer at the airport and be taken to your hotel. Located in the city centre it is the perfect spot to explore everything that this city has to offer.
Rich in history, Reykjavik is a seamless blend of old and new, combining modernist architecture, impressive museums, lively bars and gastro delights. The spectacularly staggered Hallgrimskirkja church is a special highlight as is the Perlan. 61 metres above sea level, it is an immense glass dome that rests on six hot water tanks. Opened to the public in 1991, it features a real indoor ice cave, a 360 degree observation and much more.
In the evening, you will be picked up form your hotel to start your Northern Lights tour. You will head away from the city into the countryside where there is no light pollution, giving you the best chance to see the famous flickering lights in the sky. You will be travelling with experienced guides who know the best spots to go to depending on the night’s weather condition as well as explaining both the folklore and science behind the Northern Lights.
