Day 1: Day 1 - Northern Lights Tour

The Nation’s Capital

Flying into Reykjavik, you will get your transfer at the airport and be taken to your hotel. Located in the city centre it is the perfect spot to explore everything that this city has to offer.

Rich in history, Reykjavik is a seamless blend of old and new, combining modernist architecture, impressive museums, lively bars and gastro delights. The spectacularly staggered Hallgrimskirkja church is a special highlight as is the Perlan. 61 metres above sea level, it is an immense glass dome that rests on six hot water tanks. Opened to the public in 1991, it features a real indoor ice cave, a 360 degree observation and much more.

In the evening, you will be picked up form your hotel to start your Northern Lights tour. You will head away from the city into the countryside where there is no light pollution, giving you the best chance to see the famous flickering lights in the sky. You will be travelling with experienced guides who know the best spots to go to depending on the night’s weather condition as well as explaining both the folklore and science behind the Northern Lights.

Day 2: Day 2 - Reykjavik Sightseeing

Explore The City

Today is a bit more relaxing with the included half-day city sightseeing tour of Reykjavik. You can choose whether to do this in the morning or afternoon. The tour picks you up from your hotel and will take you to the city’s famous tourist and cultural attractions. Stand at the foot of the iconic Hallgrímskirkia church, see the sun shining off the striking glass panels of the Harpa concert hall, head down to the old fishing harbour and enjoy the best views of the city from an elevated level at the Perlan Dome.

If you fancy it, why not add a trip to the famous Blue Lagoon? We can certainly book this for you before you travel.

Day 3: Day 3 Golden Circle Tour

A Day of Adventure

We are going to head to the south of the country to see Iceland’s famous trip of natural wonders – Gullfoss, Strokkur and Thingvellir.

Make sure that you are wearing a waterproof coat as you head to Gullfoss Waterfall as the viewing platforms give you an up-close view of this immense waterfall. As a positive, you can get some great photos. The waters of Strokkur Geyser steam, bubble and hiss before erupting suddenly and spectacularly into the air every ten minutes, heated to boiling point from within the rift between the tectonic plates that cracks open deep beneath the earth’s surface. The Game of Thrones fans will recognise Thingvellier National Park as this was the filming location of Jon Snow’s time beyond north of the wall.

Day 4: Day 4 - Reykjavik / UK

Back to the UK

Today is your last day before heading back home. Make the most of the time wandering around the city and taking any last-minute photos you have not got round to beforehand. You will get your coach transfer back to the airport before heading into the skies for your homeward journey.
