Malangen Resort is one of our favourite Norway resorts largely due to its remote, fjordside location.
Relaxed and isolated, Malengan Resort is the perfect place to spend some time beneath the Norwegian winter sky making it an ideal spot to see the Northern Lights. Combine a stay here with a day of winter fun in Tromso, where you can enjoy optional excursions range from husky safaris and snowmobiling to distillery tours in the Lyngen Alps.
Day 1: Day 1 - Tromso
Fly to Tromso and make your way to your hotel via the included airport shuttle bus. The central location is perfect for you to explore the town. Sample the nightlife and restaurants of downtown Tromso or if you can’t wait to see the Northern Lights, we can arrange a tour on your very first night.

Day 2: Day 2 - Transfer to Malangen Resort
The next day you get to spend some time doing exactly what you want to do from a choice of excursions, including whale watching and reindeer sledding. In the late afternoon you will head to the stunning Malengan Resort, which is only about 90 minutes drive from Tromso. Once you have unpacked your bags, it is time to relax and have dinner at the hotel’s restaurant.
There are different rooms types that you can decide what you would prefer. You can stay in a hotel room featuring excellent fjord views or upgrade to a traditionally built, red-timbered Fisherman’s cottage complete with a living room, kitchen, three bedrooms and balconies overlooking the breath-taking Norwegian fjords.

Day 3: Day 3 - Malangen Resort
Your first full day at Malengan Resort is all about you. You may want to unwind and spend your day in the panoramic sauna. Alternatively you can dive into any number of exciting excursions.
Our personal recommendations include a husky safari, where you’ll get to drive your own dogsled team, or a snowmobile tour through the Arctic wilderness and a visit to a traditional Sami lavvu (herdsmen’s tent).
You must head to nearby Camp Nikka for the most special way of seeing the Northern Lights by taking part in a guided tour here one evening.
