• The tour will treat you to a number of UNESCO sites, including Matera and Alberobello, where you will experience staying in a traditional trullo. We will also visit other surrounding highlights, like the seafront town of Monopoli and the Baroque treasures of Lecce. You will get a chance to sample some fantastic culinary delights in local trattorie and see first-hand local focaccia and mozzarella making. This tour will show you the real unspoilt and authentic Italy, and reveal one of its best kept secrets!

Tour Itinerary

• Day 1 - London / Bari / Trani / Alberobello

Upon arrival, take a short transfer to the fishing town of Trani for a superb seafood  lunch. Continue to Alberobello our home for the next seven nights.

• Day 2 - Alberobello

Enjoy a guided walk around the UNECO site of Alberobello, home of the whitewashed, conical shaped trulli, followed by a visit to the nearby Masseria Aglio-Poltri, set in the Puglian countryside, to see how mozzarella and focaccia is made and enjoy lunch.

• Day 3 - Matera

Today, enjoy a full day to the UNESCO town of Matera, used as a backdrop for numerous films. A guided walk around this mystical gem, visit churches and the sassi (caves) where the locals used to inhabit.

• Day 4 - Day at Leisure

Today is a free day for you to further explore Alberobello or maybe indulge in an optional cooking class, horse ride or vespa tour!

• Day 5 - Locorotondo / Ostuni / Valle D’Itria

Following breakfast, head out for a morning visit to Locorotondo and the hilltop “white town” of Ostuni. In the afternoon, travel along the stunning Valle D’Itria and stop at a medieval masseria (farmhouse) to taste the famous Puglian olive oil.

• Day 6 - Polignano / Monopoli

Today, we head to the coast to see the pretty village of Polignano, set on a promontory. From here head to Monopoli to see its fabulous churches, castle and harbour. We will also enjoy a seafood lunch.

• Day 7 - Lecce

A full day exploring Lecce, also known as ‘The Florence of the South’, a beautiful baroque city. Visit the Basilica di Santa Croce and the breath-taking Piazza Duomo. Enjoy some free time to further explore.

• Day 8 - Alberobello / Bari / London

After breakfast bid farewell to your trulli and head back to Bari airport for your flight home.
