Embark on a great adventure in Southeast Asia including cruising along the Mekong river. Starting in the mesmerising Angkor Wat before boarding a three-night deluxe river cruise down the Mekong. Included are various excursions that you give you authentic experiences of local life. You will leave Cambodia and cross over to Vietnam and see the many exciting places this country has to offer.

Day 1: Days 1-2 - Fly to Siem Reap

Angkor Wat - Siem Reap - Cambodia

Fly overnight to Siem Reap and upon arrival, the rest of the day is yours to start soaking up the local culture.

Day 2: Day 3 - Temples of Angkor

Rising early, journey to the old city of Angkor Thom and pass through the magnificent South Gate flanked by 54 gods and demons. At Angkor Thom’s centre is the enigmatic Bayon, a breath-taking temple of innumerable sculptural decorations. Continue to Ta Prohm before the rest of the day is dedicated to Angkor Wat.

Day 3: Day 4 - Tonle Sap Lake

If you are travelling between August and February, you will enjoy a morning cruise on Tonle Sap Lake, visiting the floating village of Kampong Phluk and observing the way of life of these lake communities.

For those travelling between March and July, as the water is slightly lower you visit Chong Kneas floating village instead.

Day 4: Day 5 - Phnom Penh

Today you fly to Cambodia’s capital city Phnom Penh where you can explore the city by cyclo, with stops at the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and the National Museum. Stop to visit Wat Phnom before finishing the day with a glass of refreshing local beer.

Day 5: Day 6 - Embark the Victoria Mekong

Reflect on the history of the Phnom Penh with a visit to the Tuol Sleng Museum and Killing Fields. Afterwards, you will say goodbye to your National Escort and be picked up by a local guide ready for your river cruise aboard the Victoria Mekong. Once you have boarded the ship, you will have a welcome briefing and cast off into the waters of the Delta. Dine on delicious local cuisine at the welcome dinner and enjoy a traditional music show as you cruise downstream.

Day 6: Day 7 - Van Nao

Today, you will leave Cambodia and cruise over into Vietnam. There will be onboard activities available such as cocktail making. On arrival at Vam Nao, take a sampan ashore to visit traditional cottage industries.

Day 7: Day 8 - Tan Loc

You will continue your river cruise downstream and visit a floating market and local museum. You will have a delicious lunch on the ship and afterwards, you will arrive at Tan Loc island. Here, you get the option to either explore a historic house and gardens for tea and fruit or visit a plum wine farm for a tasting. After the afternoon adventures, it is time to sail on to Can Tho for a farewell dinner, accompanied by a traditional music performance.

Day 8: Day 9 - Disembark the Victoria Mekong

Before you say farewell to your home from the last few days, you will visit a local floating market. You will then board the ship’s shuttle bus from Can Tho to Ho Chi Minh City and stopping en route in Cai Be for a delicious local lunch. In Ho Chi Minh City, you will be met by your Vietnamese National Escort. This evening, enjoy dinner in the dark at Noir, a restaurant supporting the city’s visually impaired.

Day 9: Day 10 - Ho Chi Minh City

Notre Dame Cathedral - Ho chi Minh City - Vietnam

Confront the reality of guerrilla warfare at the astonishing Cu Chi Tunnels, used by the Viet Cong during the war. Return to Ho Chi Minh City to explore the iconic sights, such as the Notre Dame Cathedral, Reunification Palace and Central Post Office.

Day 10: Day 11 - Hoi An

Fly to Danang Airport and will be driven to the charming town of Hoi An. You will have a guided tour of the town followed by a visit Quan Cong Temple, the elaborate Japanese Bridge and the bustling market. Finally, a highlight of this holiday is a stop en-route to visit Reaching Out, a social enterprise craft workshop, and watch the artisans at work.

Day 11: Day 12 - Tra Que Village

Today you will discover Vietnam’s countryside and visit Tra Que Village, which is a small farming community that supplies many hotels and restaurants in the area with vegetables and herbs. Here you can stroll through the gardens to see the farmers at work. Later, you have the afternoon to yourself back in Hoi An.

Day 12: Day 13 - Hanoi

Hanoi - Old Quarter - Vietnam

After breakfast, you will be flying to Hanoi. When you arrive here, you will explore the Old Quarter by cyclo. Also stop by the Temple of Literature and make sure to try a traditional egg coffee on the way!

Day 13: Day 14 - Hanoi

Ho Chi Minah Mausoleum - Hanoi - Vietnam

It is time for you to explore the rest of Hanoi’s sights today. Places that you can visit include the Ho Chi Minh quarter and Mausoleum, Humble House on Stilts, One Pillar Pagoda and more. In the evening, you get the chance to attend The Quintessence of Tonkin, a beautiful open-air performance on a lake.

Day 14: Days 15-16 - Halong Bay

Halong Bay is one of the must things to do when you visit this part of the world and during the enxt couple of days, you will find out why this is so. You will stay overnight on a traditionally designed boat on Halong Bay, cruising amongst the karst peaks on the tranquil green waters. Halong Ba is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a vision of awe-inspiring beauty, so be sure to have your camera ready to take lots of photos.

Day 15: Day 17 - Fly to the UK

Today is your final day of your holiday and you will fly back to the UK with plenty of great memories to keep forever.
