This is a customisable itinerary to provide you with a start point and suggestions for your travel plans. Day 1 International outbound flight

Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Hanoi.

Day 2 Hanoi

On arrival in Hanoi you will be greeted by your private driver and guide, and transferred to your hotel. You will have some time free to rest and relax after your flight.

Day 3 Hanoi

This morning you will join a local blogger for a fascinating street food tour of Hanoi's eateries. After enjoying a plentiful brunch you will continue your tour by taking in some of the city's major sites including Ho Chi Minh's former home, the Temple of Literature (the first university in Hanoi) and perhaps the Fine Arts Museum which has a wonderful collection of art and sculpture.

Day 4 On-board ship (Halong Bay)

Today you will be collected from your hotel and taken to the airport in time for your scenic transfer to Halong Bay. Your seaplane flight will take around 40 minutes and is a spectacular way to see the UNESCO site. Upon arrival in Halong you can relax by the marina with a Vietnamese coffee before boarding your junk. This afternoon will be spent cruising through the bay, admiring the limestone Karst scenery and enjoying the luxurious hospitality on-board.

Day 5 Hoi An

A morning on board your boat today. Cruise back to port to disembark mid-morning. You will then be collected by your guide and driver and transferred overland to Hanoi for your afternoon flight to Danang. Upon arrival in Danang you will be greeted by an Audley representative and taken to the renowned Nam Hai Hotel.

Day 6 Hoi An

After a leisurely breakfast you will meet your guide for an insightful tour around Hoi An's old town. Here you can explore the shop-houses, temples and charming Japanese covered bridge. You may wish to further explore the town on your own or return to your beachside hotel for some relaxation.

Day 7 Hoi An

Today will start with a trip to Hoi An's bustling morning market where a local chef will introduce you to some of the key ingredients needed in order to create many of Vietnam's most admired dishes. After sourcing the ingredients you will accompany the chef back to the revered Red Bridge Cookery School. The afternoon will be spent cooking and sampling many Vietnamese favourites before returning to your hotel.

Day 8 Saigon

Drive to Danang Airport today for the short flight to Saigon in southern Vietnam. On arrival transfer to Ben Tre in the Mekong where you will board your private sampan, to enjoy a cruise through the charming Mekong Delta.

Day 9 Con Dao Islands

Continue cruising through the Delta this morning. Visit one of the wonderful floating markets, before disembarking and transferring to the airport for your flight to the Con Dao Archipelago. Upon arrival on Con Dao you will be greeted by a resort representative and taken to your hotel. The next few days will be spent enjoying the stunning location and the resort's abundant facilities.

Day 10 Con Dao Islands

Perhaps you may wish to partake in some of the hotel's activities today, or alternatively you may just wish to relax on the beach or by the pool.

Day 11 Con Dao Islands

Another day of relaxing and to spend as you wish.

Day 12 Con Dao Islands

Another day of relaxing and to spend as you wish.

Day 13 Saigon

This morning you will be taken back to the airport in time for your flight to Saigon. Upon arrival you will be greeted by an Audley representative and transferred to your city hotel via the Cu Chi tunnels. Here you will learn a little more about the Vietnam War and the guerrilla tactics of the Viet Cong. This evening will be free to enjoy at your own leisure.

Day 14 Saigon

Today you will enjoy a full day city tour of Saigon with your guide on hand to offer their own insight into everyday life in Vietnam. This evening you will embark on a fascinating discovery through the streets of Saigon on the back of a Vespa. You will enjoy tasty street food, local music and a wonderful atmosphere. This will be a memorable evening and a real highlight before travelling home.

Day 15 International return flight

After breakfast you will be collected from your hotel and taken to the airport in time for your onward flight. Your return flight will arrive the same day.
