The Heart of Yorkshire
With its immense stretches of unspoilt countryside, Yorkshire is the largest county in the UK. Steeped in natural beauty, there’s no doubt that this vast county, with its rolling, enchanted moorland, ancient trees and wild birds of prey is a truly spectacular place to visit.
Its history, evident in the architectural splendour, dates back centuries and had a dramatic effect of the landscape of this great county. Yet despite this, many parts of Yorkshire remained rural. That is, until the coming of the railways in the 1840s when the new rail network opened up the county and bought accessibility to the more remote areas.
